After a much buzz in Marathi Cinema Poshter Girl finally hit the theatres, which had a decent business over the box office. The promotion in the media was decent, however, it failed to translate into good collection for unknown reason. The comedy drama managed to get around 0.90 crore, but with positive word of mouth buzz for the film, it managed to do a good business in the coming first weekend of the film. The problem with regional movie is that it seems to get overshadowed by the mainstream movies like the ones coming from B Town and secondly it has a niche language crowd, which is confined to state only.
So considering this lacuna, the film managed to get a surge in the coming two days. The second day collection tolled to around 1.0 crores, while the third day as similar show but it came down a bit. Thus the first weekend box office collection for the Marathi film called Poshter Girl tolled to around 2.60 crores. Now, if you compare to the production cost, the film still can be called a decent grocer. And after its first week collection, I am sure the film will be able to get a good collection for sure.
