Nana Patekar Called After the Success of ‘Deool Band 2’; Pravin Tarde Recalls the Incident

Following the massive success of the movie Deool Band 2, veteran actor Nana Patekar was the very first person to call filmmaker Pravin Tarde. Not only that, but Neelakanti Patekar also went to the theater to watch the movie along with women from her village and farm.

Written, directed, and starring Pravin Tarde, Deool Band 2 has achieved resounding success at the box office. It has become the second Marathi film, after Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji, to enter the ₹100 crore club. Released in theaters on May 21, 2026, the film received an overwhelming response from the audience. Many artists from the industry have also praised the film and Pravin Tarde.

In a recent interview, Pravin Tarde shared a special incident involving the legendary actor Nana Patekar. He expressed that Nana was the first to call him after Deool Band 2 became successful, and this gesture gave him immense encouragement.

Speaking to Tarangan, Pravin Tarde said:

“After Deool Band 2 succeeded, I got the very first call from Nana Patekar. Neelakanti Patekar had gone to a theater show to watch the film with 24 to 26 women who work in her village and fields. She bought tickets for all of them herself. Therefore, I am extremely grateful to Nana and Neelakanti Patekar. Getting that call gave me a real boost.”
