Umesh Kamat has acted in various television advertisements. He has also acted in Hindi TV serials Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj and Janeman Janeman. The actor’s latest release came in January which was the film Pune Via Bihar. In the film he played the role of Abhijeet Bhonsale who secretly loves his friend played by Mrunmayee Deshpande. The film that was a regional comedy involving jibes over both Marathi and Bhojpuri culture was a wholesome entertainer of the year.
35 year old Umesh , ventured into acting in theater from a young age and soon got an opportunity to act in the film Kaydyacha Bola in the year 2006. In 2013 he paired up with his wife Priya Bapat for the film Time Please. The film was an adaptation of a successfully running play in Marathi theatre in which Priya played the same role. Though Umesh was not a part of the long running play, his presence in the film was impactful .The couple’s on screen chemistry and charm transpired to the screen and the film was hugely popular.
