Jay had recently married and was on his honeymoon with wife Harshla Patil when he was stopped and taken into custody.Following his arrest, a video showing Jay’s body language inside the police van has gone viral on social media, drawing sharp reactions from netizens. The complainant learned about the shops being put up for sale in March 2024 and approached Jay and his father to express interest.

After negotiating a sale price of Rs 4.9 crore, the complainant paid Rs 3.25 crore via cheque between March and May 2024.After Jay’s father passed away in June 2024, communication about the shops became difficult. Upon inquiry, Jay revealed the shops were mortgaged and warned they might be seized by the bank. He also demanded an additional Rs 55 lakh to prevent the seizure, accusing the bank of presenting fake “debt-free” documents.Following these revelations, the complainant filed a formal police complaint, leading to Jay’s arrest at Mumbai airport just days after his wedding on December 24, 2025.
