‘Raja Shivaji’ Box Office: Riteish Deshmukh’s Epic Sees 75% Growth on Second Saturday

The historical biopic ‘Raja Shivaji’ is performing exceptionally well at the box office, seeing a huge increase in viewers during its second weekend. Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh, the movie has connected deeply with fans, especially those watching the Marathi version, which is currently earning more than the Hindi release. On its ninth day, the film saw a massive 75% jump in earnings compared to Friday, bringing in ₹5.60 crore on Saturday alone.

In just over a week, the film has collected a total of ₹72.91 crore in India. It has already made history by becoming the first Marathi film to ever cross the ₹50 crore mark during its opening weekend. This strong momentum shows that the movie is becoming a major milestone for regional cinema, proving it can successfully compete with the country’s biggest blockbusters.

While there is a lot of talk about the film’s reported ₹100 crore budget, Riteish Deshmukh recently shared that he thinks people focus too much on production costs. He explained that for an audience member, the “budget” is simply the price of their ticket. He encouraged fans to stop worrying about the financial figures and instead focus on the magic and entertainment of the story on the big screen.
