Punha Duniyadari: Sanjay Jadhav Announces Sequel to Marathi Blockbuster Duniyadari
Sanjay Jadhav, the director behind the hugely successful Marathi film Duniyadari, is set to bring its sequel, Punha Duniyadari, after a nine-year gap. The original romantic drama, released in 2013, featured stars like Swapnil Joshi, Ankush Chaudhari, Sai Tamhankar, Urmilla Kothare, and Jitendra Joshi, and remains one of the most beloved films in Marathi cinema history.Sharing a motion poster of the upcoming film on Instagram, Sanjay Jadhav wrote:
“२०१३ साली प्रेक्षकांनी ज्या चित्रपटाला भरपूर प्रेम दिलं! तेरी मेरी यारी… चल करू दुनियादारी म्हणत प्रत्यक्षात ते मैत्रीचे क्षण आमच्या सोबत जगले. ते जग, ती मैत्री, ते प्रेम आणि तीच दुनियादारी आता पुन्हा घेऊन आलोत मैत्रीच्या नव्या ढंगात आणि प्रेमाच्या नवीन रंगात. एका नव्या युगाची, नवीन रंगाची न्यु एज ईस्टमन कलर लव्हस्टोरी. तेरी मेरी यारी… आता ‘पुन्हा दुनियादारी’!!!”

According to Jadhav, Punha Duniyadari will be a fresh take on an Eastmancolor love story, blending friendship and romance in a new era and vibrant hues. Reports suggest that the makers are in talks to bring on board prominent actors from Marathi and other film industries, with the official cast and crew announcement expected soon.
Duniyadari was widely praised for its memorable songs, background score, and powerful performances, earning both critical acclaim and mass appreciation. Many dialogues from the film, especially delivered by Swapnil Joshi, still resonate with the younger generation. With high anticipation, fans eagerly await Punha Duniyadari, slated for a 2023 release, to relive the magic on the big screen.
