Popular Marathi actor Sandeep Pathak is trading his trademark comedy for a descent into darkness. The first teaser for his upcoming film, Ghabadkund, has been released, revealing a gritty, mysterious avatar of the actor as he plunges into a haunted well in search of gold.

The Return of ‘Dilya’ and the Ghabadkund Universe

Fans will recognize Pathak’s character, Dilya, who previously navigated the supernatural terrors of the village of Oras in the thriller Alay-Palay. After fleeing the village following those horrific events, Dilya’s journey continues in this expanded cinematic universe.

Directed by Pritam S. Patil, Ghabadkund aims to push the boundaries of Marathi cinema by building a high-concept “horror-thriller universe” that blends myth with bone-chilling reality.

A Test of Fear and Reality

The teaser highlights Pathak’s dramatic transformation, showing him descending into a deep, mysterious well. According to the actor, the shoot was as physically demanding as it was mentally taxing.

“The experience of getting into that well was terrifying; it gave me goosebumps,” Pathak shared. “It wasn’t just about finding gold. Every step was a confrontation with fear, darkness, and unknown forces. It was a real test to balance the thrill with a sense of reality.”

Talking about the film, it is directed by Pritam S. Patil, while the producer remains to be Rasik Kadam (Icon the Style). The theme happens to be a Mystery. While the teaser focuses on the lure of gold, it hints that the secret hidden within the well is far more sinister than simple wealth.
