‘Mi Thokat Nahi, Mi Todto’: Baramati Youth Faces Pune Police Action Over Viral Reel Inspired by Marathi Movie Mulshi Pattern

A young man from Baramati, Pune, is facing police action after posting a viral reel inspired by the 2018 Marathi film Mulshi Pattern. The reel, featuring the youth lip-syncing a threatening dialogue from the movie, sparked criticism for promoting anger and violence.In the video, the youth recited the line spoken by the film’s protagonist Rahul Patil: “Appa Mi Thokat Nahi O, Mi Na Todto. Majha Patternch Vegla Aahe,” which translates to, “Appa, I don’t just hit, I break. My pattern is only different.”

The reel was captioned with “Sarkar. No Compromise.” and depicted human violence, mirroring the movie’s context where the character threatens a politician.According to Pune Rural Police, the reel was posted amid a murder attempt case in Vanjarwadi and was seen as an attempt to intimidate and create fear.

Following verification under senior officials’ guidance, Baramati Taluka Police registered a case against the youth for spreading terror and intimidation.Police Inspector Chandrasekhar Yadav emphasized strict enforcement of the law, applauding the Baramati Taluka Police for taking strong action against online hooliganism and bullying.
