The Marathi film Chhabi, which has been winning hearts and gaining popularity at theatres, is set to charm Nagpur next. To promote the film, lead actors Dr. Srishti Bahekar and Dhruv Chedda will soon tour the city, visiting local theatres and the ongoing Garba Mahotsav festival.Vidarbha’s own Srishti Vijay Bahekar, a dentist turned actress, will engage with Nagpur audiences alongside her co-star Dhruv.
Both actors are making their Marathi cinema debut with Chhabi. Dhruv, who previously appeared as a child actor in several advertisements—including one with superstar Shah Rukh Khan—is also a trained dancer under Shiamak Davar. Expressing his excitement, he said,“Debuting in Marathi cinema is a proud moment as my family and I are ardent fans of Marathi content.”Directed by Advait Masurkar and produced by Jaya Chedda, Chhabi features music by the popular duo Rohan-Rohan and includes veteran actors such as Makrand Deshpande, Samir Dharmadhikari, and Shubhangi Gokhale.
The film’s story revolves around a young photographer who encounters a mysterious woman visible only through his camera, blurring the boundaries between reality and illusion.Released on September 26, Chhabi has already received an enthusiastic response from audiences. Nagpur moviegoers can now look forward to meeting the stars in person during their upcoming visit. The lead duo also attended a press conference at the Patrakar Club of Nagpur on Monday evening, further building excitement around the film’s promotion.
