Capturing Human Emotions with the Bioscope

A collection of four short films, Bioscope is a one of a kind movie that has captured the depth of human emotions through four different stories. Narrated by the iconic Gulzar, the movie is definitely a must-watch for it is not every day that you get to see heart touching stories, depicted in a beautiful and precise style.

The first movie is Mitraa, directed by Ravi Jadhav. It is based on a poem by Sandeep Khare and has Veena Jamkar and Mrunmayee Deshpande playing the lead roles. It may be noted here that the movie was selected as a short film in “Indian Panorama 2014”. The second movie is Bail, based on the life of a folk Marathi poet, Loknath Yashwant. Mangesh Desai, Smita Tambe, Uday Sabnis and Sagar Karande are playing important characters and the director is Girish Mohite.

The third film is Ek Hota Kau, which also went as a nominee as a short film in “Indian Panorama 2014”. It has the talented Spruha Joshi and Kushal Badrike in the lead roles and Viju Mane has donned the director’s hat. The film is based on a poem by Saumitra. Gajendra Ahire’s Dil-E-Naadan is the last among the lot and traces its roots in one of the Ghazals of the eminent poet Mirza Ghalib. Neena Kulkarni and Suhas Bhalekar play the lead roles.

A commendable project, Bioscope is sure to prove a treat for literature and art lovers who yearn for movies with fine content and literary backdrop. Do go and watch it.
