According to a report by Koimoi, the film’s budget was a modest ₹6 crore. At the box office, this horror-comedy racked up a lifetime collection of ₹16.39 crore. Consequently, the film’s Return on Investment (ROI) stands at an impressive ₹10.36 crore. The profit margin for Tumbadchi Manjula is a staggering 172.66%.
Directed by Vividh Koregaonkar, the film stars Om Bhutkar, Sai Tamhankar, and Jitendra Joshi in the lead roles. Makarand Anaspure, Anshuman Vichare, Priyal Naik, Ganesh Pandit, Umesh Jagtap, Yogesh Shirsat, and Siddheshwar Zadbuke also play pivotal roles.
Tumbadchi Manjula is the official remake of a film by a Kannada writer-director. The Marathi adaptation sets its story in a remote village in the Konkan region. Amidst the hustle and bustle of a grand wedding celebration, news spreads across the village that a local youth named Keshav has been possessed by a ghost. Through the spiritual interventions of Karunakar Guruji, it is deduced that the spirit inside Keshav belongs to Manjula from Tumbad village.
