Marathi Actress Swati Deol Opens Up About Experiencing Three Miscarriages Alone

Amidst all the glamour of the entertainment industry, actors often navigate deeply painful personal trials away from the spotlight. Popular Marathi actress Swati Deol recently candidly shared the emotional and physical toll of her personal struggles, revealing that she suffered three miscarriages—including losing a baby in her seventh month of pregnancy often while having to manage the crises entirely on her own.
Reflecting on her first pregnancy, Swati shared that medical complications forced her into premature delivery at seven months. Driven by professional commitments, she immediately returned to work, shooting demanding dance sequences for a project. The intense physical exertion caused severe pain and health issues, compounded by a lack of acting work during a very demoralizing phase in her life. She was later offered a role in the serial Kulvadhu, but her health prevented her from accepting, as the script required physically grueling scenes, such as falling down a flight of stairs.
Swati revealed that she subsequently went through two more miscarriages, partly due to intense physical dance routines before she even realized she was pregnant. The physical and mental strain of the repeated procedures was overwhelming, particularly because her husband, actor-comedian Tushar Deol, was unable to be by her side due to tight professional shooting schedules.
Clarifying that she holds no resentment toward her husband, Swati explained that Tushar was committed to work assignments, such as a comedy shoot at Water Kingdom during her first emergency hospitalization. While he offered to come if absolutely necessary, she chose to handle the hospital visits alone to avoid disrupting his work. However, the emotional toll weighed heavily on both of them by the third loss, leaving Tushar heartbroken and Swati fearful of future pregnancies. Despite the immense hardship, Swati shared that her strength came from her deep commitment to supporting her husband and their shared life.
