Sonalee Kulkarni and Siddharth Jadhav: The 10-Year Silent Rift Behind Their On-Screen Chemistry

Popular Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni made her silver screen debut in 2007 with the hit comedy film Bakula Namdev Ghotale, directed by Kedar Shinde. In the movie, she shared the screen with co-star Siddharth Jadhav. The dynamic pairing struck a chord with the audience, winning praise for their romantic scenes and the hit track Man Jhuratay. However, behind the seamless on-screen romance lay a completely different reality: the two actors secretly stopped speaking to each other for nearly a decade.
Despite displaying natural chemistry before the camera, a minor conflict during a shoot caused a major rift between the two stars. This silent treatment persisted for years, even when they were cast together again in subsequent projects like the film Irada Pakka. Sonalee later revealed in an interview that they maintained absolute professionalism on set, interacting strictly when performing their scenes and ignoring each other completely as soon as the director called cut.
The decade-long silence finally broke under unexpected circumstances following the sudden demise of legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi in 2018. Deeply affected by the loss, Siddharth realized the futility of holding long-standing grudges against loved ones and colleagues. He reached out to Sonalee to resolve their differences, leading the two actors to bury the hatchet and rekindle their close friendship.
