Maharashtra Govt to Launch Film Study Circle for Classic Marathi Cinema, Announces Minister Ashish Shelar
In an effort to nurture a passionate audience for quality cinema and provide film enthusiasts with the chance to enjoy timeless classics, the Maharashtra government is set to introduce a new initiative called the “Film Study Circle” through Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar announced on Wednesday.
Announcement Made During Ganesh Festival CelebrationsShelar unveiled the plan during his visit to the ongoing Ganesh festival celebrations at Chitranagari, now in its 32nd year. Highlighting the Cultural Affairs Department’s ongoing efforts alongside the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation, he said, “The Film Study Circle will not only foster a discerning audience for quality cinema but also offer cine lovers a unique opportunity to watch acclaimed classic Marathi films on the big screen.”
Partnership with Doordarshan Sahyadri for Wider Outreach
To expand the initiative’s reach, the Corporation will collaborate with the Doordarshan Sahyadri channel to broadcast select Marathi films on television, further promoting the rich legacy of Marathi cinema.
