Kaul released this week amidst huge chaos of demonetization. The film, bearing a non commercial look, had a low profile promotion. As there was no star presence to bring the film in news, it relied solely on the unusualness of it’s subject that was backed by exemplary performance by mature actors. The film, however, failed to pull audience to box office which was also an aftermath of the financial crisis related to demonetization. Even the younger audience abstained from entertainment this weekend as the crisis hit all strata of the society. Being the single release, Kaul did catch the attention of the audience.

The majority of audience was senior. The movie got good word of mouth and received good reviews from the critics on the internet.
