Gayatri Datar Reveals Her Wedding Was Almost Cancelled Due to a Surprising Logistics Crisis

Marathi actress Gayatri Datar, who tied the knot with Shrikant Chavre on April 27, 2026, recently shared a startling revelation about her wedding. While photos and videos of the grand, traditional ceremony in Bhor, near Pune, went viral on social media and drew immense love from fans, the actress disclosed in a recent interview that the event was very close to being cancelled entirely.

Clarifying that there was no personal dispute or family drama, Gayatri explained that the wedding faced a major logistical hurdle just weeks before the date. After booking a picturesque resort and starting to distribute wedding invitations, the couple received a sudden call from their caterer. The catering team informed them that they were unable to secure commercial LPG cylinders required to cook for the large gathering. The situation escalated so quickly that the caterer suggested calling off the grand feast, leaving the family contemplating a simple home ceremony with a minimal guest list and a quick registration.

The crisis caused significant uncertainty for Gayatri’s parents, who halted the distribution of wedding cards for nearly fifteen days while struggling to decide whether the event could proceed as planned. With no immediate solution in sight, the family was left in suspense over whether the big-day celebrations would actually happen.

Fortunately, the situation took a positive turn when a close friend stepped in, taking full responsibility for managing the catering arrangements and resolving the cylinder shortage. Thanks to this timely intervention, Gayatri and Shrikant were able to move forward with their original plans and celebrate their special day surrounded by family and friends in Bhor. Looking back on the stressful experience, Gayatri expressed gratitude for her friend’s support, which saved what could have otherwise turned into a very quiet and scaled-down affair.
