Shantanu Moghe Emotional on Priya Marathe’s First Death Anniversary: “There Is No One Like Her”

It has been one year since the tragic passing of actress Priya Marathe, who lost her brave battle with cancer on August 31, 2025. Marking her first death anniversary, her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe, shared an emotional tribute, reminiscing about their relationship before marriage and the strength he drew from his family during difficult times.

In a recent interview, Shantanu looked back at the beautiful bond he shared with Priya. Speaking about their courtship, he emphasized the deep connection they had, which transcended materialistic considerations. “The time we spent together before marriage was great. It wasn’t about money, success, or looks; it was a pure heart-to-heart connection. Our thoughts and minds matched perfectly,” he shared, adding with deep emotion, “There is no one like Priya.”

Shantanu also revealed how they first met. He recalled seeing Priya perform in Hindi Comedy Circus and being immediately impressed. Determined to reach out, he obtained her number from actress Sharvari Lohkare. Describing their amusing first interaction, he said, “I called her and asked for two minutes. She said she was driving. I asked if she could pull over, which she did. I just told her how wonderful she was on the show and wished her well as a Marathi actress in Hindi television.” They later met formally at Sharvari’s house, and their relationship blossomed from there.

Reflecting on his support system, Shantanu shared a touching anecdote about his late father, the veteran actor Shrikant Moghe. While Shantanu and Priya initially kept their relationship quiet, his father found out while in Pune. Shantanu recalled, “I was in Pune when Baba called and said, ‘Congratulations.’ I was shocked because I hadn’t told anyone at home yet. Baba knew about all my friends, but he just let me tell him things in my own time.” Shantanu credited his parents’ teachings and unwavering support for giving him the strength to face life’s challenges.
