Sagar Deshmukh is a B Town and M Town actor who was born and brought up in Pune. He has done his schooling and College from Pune itself completing his Law in the year 1999 and since always loved to act hence headed to Mumbai to pursue his dreams to become an actor. Also, he has been involved involved in writing and direction apart from acting. He has been active in the world of theatres since his college days in Pune and was among the founders of the group called Aasakta Kalamanch, Pune- which is a prominent Marathi theatre group in Pune. He has been on stage for not less than 25 different plays and has been notable for his works in past as an actor that include the M Town plays including Matra Ratra, Uney Purey Shahar Ek, Tichee 17 Prakarne, and F-1/105 to name a few.
Sagar Deshmukh Career
To add the latest one, he did the play called Mein Huun Yusuf Aur Ye Hai Mera Bhai, which was directed by Mohit Takalkar. His Hindi play Piya Behrupiya (which was directed by Atul Kumar) had got its premier at the prestigious The Globe Theatre, London. Besides, Marathi and Hindi plays, he has also performed in the English plays including Kashmir Kashmir and Noises Off.Sagar, which have been the part and parcel of of Grips Theatre’s Pune chapter along with his performances in a number of plays including Sapadli Yukti Sapadli, Aai Pan Baba Pan and Stronger than Superman.
Some of the mainstream plays include Lagnakallol, Mukkam Post Bombilwadi, Aaila Ho Rey, and Lochya Zala Re. As a writer, we saw Sagar translating and adapting the play ‘Legitimate Hooey’ and Duncan Wells A Girl Who Lives by Bradley Hayward, which he carried out Under My Bed and was being played Matra Ratra and Bed ke Neeche Rehne wali. Some of his original works include Talyat Malyat and Shillak. He even wrote the show Shillak while he remained the part and parcel of the Writers Bloc of Royal Court Theatre, based in London and Rage Theatre, India. The actor has even worked as Dialogue writer for the show Eka Laganichi Tisri Goshta- which was a popular Daily Soap for a Marathi Television Channel.
He is among the few Indian Artists who has been chosen by his Cirque du Soleil as the potential performer. He even bagged Zee Gaurav Puraskar for his performance in the TV show called Matra Ratra. While as an Actor and Model, Sagar we saw him working in not less than 10 TV commercial ads. His performances in a few films like Hunter in B Town and the M Town film YZ have been appreciated a lot by the masses and critics.
