Mystery Thriller ‘Ghabadkund’ Recovers Over 61% of Its Budget in Just 6 Days!

The golden run for Marathi cinema continues in 2026! Following the massive success of blockbusters like Raja Shivaji and Deool Band 2, the newly released adventure-suspense thriller Ghabadkund is making waves at the box office. Released on June 19, 2026, the film has struck a chord with audiences, recovering more than 61% of its production budget within its first six days.

The Box Office Breakdown

Directed by Pritam SK Patil, Ghabadkund was mounted on a controlled budget of ₹6 crores. Thanks to strong word-of-mouth, it has already amassed ₹3.70 crores in India, locking in a 61.66% budget recovery in less than a week.

On its sixth day (Wednesday), the film collected ₹35 lakhs. While this was an 18.6% dip from Tuesday’s ₹43 lakhs, the thriller is capitalizing heavily on the slowing momentum of older releases to maintain steady theatrical footfalls across Maharashtra.

Climbing the 2026 Leaderboard

With its stellar run, Ghabadkund has officially dethroned the Namrata Sambherao starrer Super Duper (₹3.44 crores) to become the 6th highest-grossing Marathi film of 2026. Industry trackers suggest its next target is the Prarthana Behere and Nirmiti Sawant comedy Aag Aag Soonbai, Kya Kehta Sasubai, which stands at ₹8.97 crores.
