Modi government to promote Urdu language with help from Bollywood stars Salman, Shah Rukh, and Katrina Kaif

With the long-pending realisation that there has been no effort by Modi government for promotion of Urdu language as compared to private players, the officials have now decided to opt for the powerful stage of Bollywood.

This move comes with the ruling party trying to bring in the superstars such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Katrina Kaif amid the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language or the NCPUL. This autonomous body serves under Ministry of Human Resource Development and now seeks access to a more active role in promotion of Urdu language.

For long, the NCPUL had been struggling with tough competition laid out by the private players organizing events dedicated solely for the promotion of Urdu language and bring in massive crowds comprised of young learners.

Aquil Ahmed, the director at NCPUL mentioned that the council needs to do a better job of promoting the language but as of now; it has managed to produce just the literature part of the language. So, they need to focus on the overall expansion of the language so that it doesn’t get extinguished among other languages. The council plans to opt for help from the actors to ensure they say some lines in the language and use these videos to promote the language over social media and events.
