The broken cup in Mukta’s hand is not just a damaged object but symbolizes the rifts in relationships, unspoken sorrows, and the voids life brings. Seeing the cup naturally raises the question: Is a relationship also unknowingly broken like this? One whose edges are still held but is no longer whole? Despite holding the broken cup, Mukta’s calm, faint smile seems to reflect acceptance rather than denial of the pain.
Director Aditya Ingle says, “Maya is not just about love but about understanding, accepting each other, and nurturing relationships through the passage of time. Life isn’t always perfect. Some things break, some relationships change. The cup in Mukta’s hand symbolizes this, and her smile signifies acceptance. Through this motion poster, we wanted to convey the film’s emotions without words.”
Produced by Shalini Cinemas and Nitin Vaidya Productions, Maya is produced by Dr. Sunil Datar, Alka Madhukar Datar, and Nitin Prakash Vaidya. Directed by Aditya Ingle, the film stars Mukta Barve, Girish Oak, Siddharth Chandekar, Vijay Kenkre, and Rohini Hattangadi in lead roles. Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, the film’s poster has already sparked curiosity among audiences.
