Mahesh Manjrekar Reacts to Tanushree Dutta’s Allegations Against Nana Patekar: “Nothing Happened on Set”

Filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has spoken out regarding the long-standing controversy between veteran actor Nana Patekar and actress Tanushree Dutta. In a recent interview with News18 Marathi, Manjrekar addressed the high-profile allegations that originally stemmed from the sets of the 2008 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss.

During the interview, Manjrekar clarified what he learned after speaking directly with the cast and crew members present during the shooting of the film. He stated: “I don’t know what happened on the set, but I asked everyone who was there nothing had happened. I’ve been told everything by the people there… Nana has endured a lot during that time. I know what happened and what didn’t.”

The controversy dates back to 2008 when Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of misbehaving with her under the guise of choreographing a dance step. She further alleged that she was harassed and intimidated following the incident. Patekar consistently denied all charges. Although Dutta filed a formal police complaint, law enforcement authorities eventually cleared Patekar due to a lack of supporting evidence.

Manjrekar noted that despite the legal resolution, public speculation surrounding such cases often lingers unfairly, causing significant personal and professional strain on those involved. His recent comments add another perspective from within the Marathi and Hindi film industries regarding one of Bollywood’s most widely discussed legal and media battles.
