“In the End, She Is My Daughter”: Sachin Pilgaonkar Shares Amusing Anecdote About Shriya on Kon Honar Crorepati
On an upcoming episode of Kon Honar Crorepati hosted by Madhuri Dixit on Sony Marathi, veteran actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar shared a heartwarming and funny memory about his daughter, actress Shriya Pilgaonkar. Appearing alongside actress Madhurani Gokhale, Sachin took the hot seat for a special episode filled with nostalgic conversations, memorable television moments, and lighthearted exchanges including a segment where Madhuri shared hilarious internet memes featuring Sachin.
During their conversation, Sachin reflected on Shriya’s initial entry into the world of acting. He recalled attending a stage play where Shriya had a brief, ten-minute performance and had invited him and his wife, Supriya Pilgaonkar, to watch. Within moments of her taking the stage, Sachin recognized her innate acting talent. Impressed by her presence, he offered her a role in a film he was directing while driving back home.

However, Shriya’s professional response caught him completely off guard. She immediately told him, “Give me the script first. I will read it and then I will tell you what it is.” Recounting the moment to a surprised Madhuri Dixit, Sachin laughed and said, “I calmed down. But then I thought, ‘After all, she is my daughter.’ She read the script, liked it, and did the film.”
He went on to share that Shriya earned multiple awards for her debut performance in that film before independently carving out her own successful career path in the entertainment industry.
