Tath Kana: A Film Celebrating Determination, Service, and Struggle, Releasing November 28

The inspiring film Tath Kana—a story of courage, dedication, and perseverance—is set to release on November 28. Centered around the powerful idea that “A man gets courage because of his stiff spine,” a phrase by Dr. Shirwadkar, the film chronicles the remarkable journey of Premanand Ramani, whose activism and commitment embody this spirit.Dr. Vivek Oberoi, a world-renowned neurospine surgeon who revolutionized the field, treated thousands and taught patients to live with resilience and strength. Inspired by the principle of humanity, Premanand Ramani has successfully performed thousands of surgeries, dedicating himself to finding a special procedure that can alleviate pain for millions.
The film captures his relentless struggle, the skepticism he faced during his research, and the stubborn determination he overcame with the support of his patients.Produced by Vijay Mudshingikar of Pragya Creations and Karan Rawat of Spring Summer Films, Tath Kana is written by Shrikant Bojewar and directed by Girish Mohite. The recently held trailer launch drew dignitaries and well-wishers, including noted producer-director Ashok Hande, who extended his heartfelt wishes for the film’s success.Dr. Premanand Ramani expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s truly touching to see one of my patients create a film about my journey. I am deeply thankful to the entire team for their dedication in portraying my story.”
The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare remarked that the Government of India remains committed to the welfare of doctors like Ramani. A family member shared, “Thanks to Premanand Ramani’s efforts, our family overcame great hardship. It is a proud moment that my father’s dream of showcasing Ramani’s life of perseverance on the silver screen is coming true.”Director Girish Mohite praised the project as “a perfect example of great teamwork,” expressing pride in being part of it. Actor Umesh Kamat called himself fortunate to portray the role of a doctor, while Deepti Devi reflected on the importance of playing the steadfast companion, describing it as a valuable learning experience.
The film features Umesh Kamat, Deepti Devi, Sayali Sanjeev, Suyog Gorhe, Ajit Bhure, Shailesh Datar, Anupama Takmoge, Ravi Gosai, Sanjeev Jotangia, and others. Mahesh Kudalkar handled art direction, with music composed by Avinash-Vishwajeet. Prashant Pawar serves as executive producer, and Jitendra Bhosale as production controller.Tath Kana promises to be a heartfelt tribute to courage, service, and unwavering dedication.
