Veteran filmmaker and actor of Mtown – Sachin Pilgaonkar is gearing up to make a strong comeback in Hindi cinema following the phenomenal success of his Marathi film Navra Maza Navsacha 2. The film, a family comedy-drama, has not only captivated audiences in India but also found widespread appreciation internationally, especially in the USA and Canada, grossing an impressive ₹19 crores within its first ten days.Speaking about his future plans, Pilgaonkar shared, “After the grand success of Navra Maza Navsacha 2, I am now looking forward to directing a Hindi film, a thorough entertainer.
Over the years, I have directed commercial films across various genres, with family entertainers being my forte. Having primarily worked in Marathi cinema recently, I am excited to return to Hindi films. The immense love and support from the audience motivates me, and even after 60 years in the industry, my passion and energy for cinema remain as strong as ever.”With a prolific career spanning over six decades, Sachin Pilgaonkar has acted in more than 200 films and directed 23.
He is celebrated for iconic Marathi comedies like Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi and Navra Maza Navsacha. His contributions extend to Hindi entertainment as well, having directed the popular TV comedy Tu Tu Main Main starring Supriya Pilgaonkar and Reema Lagoo, along with Hindi films like Prem Deewane featuring Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff, and Aisi Bhi Kya Jaldi Hai.Navra Maza Navsacha 2, the sequel to the 2005 hit, stars Ashok Saraf, Nirmiti Sawant, and the lead pair Sachin Pilgaonkar alongside Supriya Pilgaonkar.
