Sachin Pilgaonkar and Madhurani Gokhale Reunite After 22 Years for ‘Kapuskonda’

The hit pairing from Navra Majha Navsacha is back. Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and actress Madhurani Gokhale are set to share the screen once again after a 22-year hiatus in the upcoming film Kapuskonda. The motion poster for the film was recently unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

While the reunion of these two veterans is a major draw, the real surprise lies in the identity of the film’s lead “hero.”

A Non-Traditional Protagonist

In a unique twist, the title character and hero of the film did not have to go through a single audition. The leading role belongs to ‘Kapuskonda’—a charming dog.

Described as “A Family Dog Film,” the story is inspired by a true incident. It revolves around the deep emotional bond between a family and their pet, exploring themes of human relationships, innocence, and heartfelt connection.

Both actors expressed deep excitement about the script and working together again:

• Sachin Pilgaonkar: “The plot of this film is very different. I have never done such a story in my entire career. I felt the plot was perfectly in sync with my own emotions.”
• Madhurani Gokhale: Marking her comeback to the silver screen with this project, she shared, “I fell in love with the story the moment Sachin Mohite narrated it. It’s sweet and innocent. Plus, getting to learn from Sachin sir again after 22 years was a great opportunity.”

Production Details

The film is set against the rustic backdrop of Andhori village in Latur district, where the majority of the shooting took place. The film is directed and written by Sachin Mohite while the Screenplay & Dialogues are jotted down by Sachin Mohite, Ganesh Pandit, and Hrishikesh Turai. The music is composed by A.V. Prafullachandra, with vocals by Avadhoot Gupte and Padmanabh Gaikwa. Alongside the leads, the film features Akshata Padgaonkar, Janhavi Tambat, and Bhushan Patil.

While the audience will have to wait a little longer for the official release date, Kapuskonda promises to be a soulful entertainer that puts a spotlight on the extraordinary bond between humans and their four-legged friends.
