The marathi film Hampi is a love, drama film which featured Sonalee Kulkarni, Prajakta Mali and Lalit Prabhakar along with Priydarshan Jadhav (in supporting role). The film has a decent review thanks to the interesting story along with lots of twist and love triangle creating problems between the two best friends and the way their life change in the city of Hampi. The film though started with a meager start but with increasing word of mouth it ended up collecting a decent amount over the box office. The film was released last month and it’s been four weeks till we see the movie hitting the screens.
Now looking at the collection of the film, we saw it making around 5 crores on the first week, which went at the downward direction in terms of collection in the coming weeks. It becomes difficult for the regional films particularly the Marathi movies to do well as it is a game of the state and thus remains intact within the language and state it matters. Same went with the case of Hampi as we could see the movie only having response from states like Maharashtra and to some extent to the vicinity states particularly Goa.
The film after gaining 5 crores at the box office was seen struggling over the box office as the collection went down by 60 percent in the second weekend collection that remained the same in the coming weeks as well. After Sairat none of the film in M Town was able to perform over the box office. After all it is a matter of luck and timing that failed to work for this film and others in the Marathi cinema. Now, talking about the box office collection for Hampi till date, it went to give around 12 crores, which is still a decent amount for the makers.
