Actor Akash Thosar, who won hearts across households as ‘Parshya’ in the blockbuster film Sairat, is back in the spotlight. A resurfaced video showcasing his romantic avatar alongside a Marathi actress has grabbed attention on social media, prompting hilarious and witty reactions from netizens.
Following his breakout role in the Nagraj Manjule-directed Sairat, Akash’s popularity skyrocketed. However, as he has not been very active on the big screen recently, fans often wonder what he is up to. Passionate about wrestling alongside his acting career, Akash took on a few projects after Sairat, though they didn’t quite replicate the monumental success of his debut.
Released in 2017, Mahesh Manjrekar’s film FU: Friendship Unlimited generated considerable buzz. The movie featured an ensemble cast including Akash Thosar, Vaidehi Parshurami, Satya Manjrekar, Sanskruti Balgude, and Mayuresh Pem, introducing audiences to the fresh on-screen pairing of Akash and Vaidehi.
In particular, the romantic scenes and dance sequences featuring Akash and Vaidehi in the film sparked heavy discussions online. Netizens flooded social media with amusing reactions to their chemistry, with comments joking that Akash looked like a “bachhu” (young kid) standing next to Vaidehi. Interestingly, actress Vaidehi Parshurami is one year older than Akash in real life.
Meanwhile, regarding Akash’s upcoming projects, a major announcement was made a few years ago about his ambitious film Baal Shivaji. He underwent special training and preparation for the role, but little information has since emerged regarding its release date.
Apart from Sairat, Akash has showcased his acting skills in diverse projects like Jhund, the Netflix anthology Lust Stories, and Ghar Banduk Biryani. Although he is currently somewhat away from mainstream commercial cinema, his old music videos and photos continue to spark conversations and nostalgia online.
