Popular influencer and actress Prajakta Koli is set to make her Marathi cinema debut with Hemant Dhome’s upcoming film Krantijyoti Vidyalaya-Marathi Madhyam, which highlights the decline of Marathi-medium schools in Maharashtra. Prajakta shares that working in Marathi cinema feels like returning to her roots, emphasizing the deep connection she feels with regional language and stories.
The film was recently shot in Alibaug, Raigad district, where director Hemant Dhome completed his schooling. He expressed his happiness about filming in his hometown and said the movie sheds light on the local education system—a subject very close to his heart. Dhome added, “We were on cloud nine seeing the audience’s response to the announcement.
Now that filming is complete, I am confident we are offering something fresh and meaningful.”Prajakta reflected on her journey from the digital world to Bollywood and now Marathi cinema, calling it an “incredible experience.” She said, “The language, the culture, and the regional stories we tell hold a special place in my heart. Krantijyoti Vidyalaya-Marathi Madhyam explores themes that are not only timely but essential.
