Makers of ‘Deool Band 2′ Direct Box Office Profits to Support Farmers’ Children After Shah Rukh Khan’s Key Support

Director Pravin Tarde’s Marathi film Deool Band 2 has become a major talking point following a generous gesture from superstar Shah Rukh Khan, which subsequently led the film’s producers to launch a significant social initiative.

Prior to its theatrical release, the limited-budget project faced a severe financial hurdle when its Digital Cinema Package (DCP) bill reached ₹42 lakh. Unable to cover the cost, the producers reached out to Red Chillies Entertainment to explain their situation and intent to achieve a wide release. Upon learning that the project was being developed by the creative team behind Mulshi Pattern, Shah Rukh Khan personally directed his company to waive the entire ₹42 lakh bill, allowing the film to proceed without financial strain.

Following its release, Deool Band 2 achieved substantial commercial success, crossing the ₹100 crore mark at the box office. Instead of retaining the financial returns, the producers announced that all profits remaining after covering production costs will be dedicated to funding the education of children from farmers’ families, particularly those impacted by farmer suicides and severe drought conditions.

Additionally, Pravin Tarde confirmed that part of the proceeds will be used to provide two daily meals to around 250 underprivileged children. Through this initiative, the film’s success extends beyond box office metrics to deliver direct social impact.
