Actor Arbaaz Shaikh, widely recognized for his role as Parshya’s loyal best friend Salya in Nagraj Manjule’s blockbuster Marathi film Sairat, has posted an emotional plea for help on social media.
His father is currently in critical condition following a brain hemorrhage. Standing outside a private hospital in Solapur, a distressed Arbaaz exposed the financial exploitation his family is facing and begged fans for guidance and financial assistance to save his father’s life.
The Alleged Exploitation at the Hospital
In the viral video, Arbaaz detailed a harrowing experience with the private medical facility:
Forced In-House Purchases: After paying an initial ₹10,000 deposit, the hospital strictly prohibited him from buying medicines or injections from outside pharmacies.
Exorbitant Medical Bills: Because they were forced to buy solely from the hospital’s internal pharmacy, a bill for basic pills skyrocketed to over ₹40,000. Arbaaz noted that the exact same medication would have cost less than ₹20,000 outside.
Decision to Shift: Disgusted by the financial looting and fearing for his father’s life, Arbaaz has decided to immediately shift him to a different healthcare facility.
A Desperate Plea to the Public
“I don’t know what to do anymore, but I want to save my father at any cost. I don’t want to see him die,” Arbaaz said in the video. “Should medical experts or anyone who knows better guide me on where I should admit him next for proper treatment? Please help me.”
The video is rapidly gaining traction across Instagram and Facebook, with netizens slamming the hospital’s management and rallying together to coordinate financial aid and better medical recommendations for the actor’s family.
Cast and Ensemble
The film features Altaf Khan, Gaurav Soni, and Yogendra Singh in the lead roles, supported by a talented ensemble cast including Durga Lal Saini, Hemant Sharma, Jagdish Prasad Tak, Raju Gujjar, and Priyanka Khandekar.
