Actor Sayaji Shinde expressed deep shock and sorrow following the sudden demise of veteran actor Nana Patekar, who passed away on Thursday morning in Goa after suffering a severe heart attack at the age of 75.
Shinde, who was also in Goa shooting for his upcoming project Rana, revealed that he received the news around 7:00 AM while at work. Visibly emotional and struggling to find words, Shinde shared that he had spoken with Patekar just the day before. “This is truly shocking. We had a wonderful conversation yesterday, and suddenly this happened. I couldn’t believe whether the news circulating everywhere was true or false,” Shinde told reporters.
The two actors shared a close personal bond and collaborated on numerous film projects over the years. Beyond their artistic careers, Shinde also actively supported the Naam Foundation—a initiative founded by Nana Patekar and actor Makarand Anaspure to assist drought-affected farmers and address rural water crises across Maharashtra.
